Care and Support for Deafblind Children and Adults Policy Guidance

DH issued “Care and Support for Deafblind Children and Adults Policy Guidance” in December 2014. The reference to this guidance is tucked away in paragraph 22.23 of the Care and Support Statutory Guidance. This new guidance replaces the “Social Care for Deafblind Children and Adults (2009) Guidance” from 1 April 2015.

SENSE have produced a guide to support senior managers and policy makers involved in implementing the Care Act to enable them to understand the key aspects of the Act that have a bearing on care and support for deafblind people and people with complex needs. SENSE intend that their guide will also be useful to anyone working in deafblind care and support to understand how the Care Act will impact on their work. It is a supplement to other training and information on the Act, not a replacement.
