#iCAreatChristmas campaign

Just in time for the launch of Age UK’s annual loneliness campaign, a heart-warming Christmas video has been created by a London council to raise awareness of the difficulties faced by many older and vulnerable people across the capital during the festive season.

Barking and Dagenham Council has produced a video to the festive song ’12 Days of Christmas’, with revised lyrics asking everyone to keep an eye out for vulnerable neighbours this winter. Part of the #iCAreatChristmas campaign, the video highlights how simple things like popping in for a cup of tea and helping with shopping can make a significant difference to the lives of many people.

Mounting pressure on hospitals’ Accident and Emergency units and a shortfall in funding make older people particularly vulnerable in these challenging times, so it is becoming increasingly important for everyone to come together as one community and do their best to look after the people who need it most.
