Social Work Apprenticeship SPOCs

PLEASE NOTE: From October 2019 the Social Care Learning and Development Network will focus on delivery of the Social Work Apprenticeship Programme, drawing on the expertise of appointed Apprenticeship Single Points of Contact (SPOCs) within London Local Authorities. This group will meet monthly rather than quarterly, and dates will be sent out once confirmed.

Key Aims for 2019/20

  • To give opportunities to share best practice and information e.g. research and/or opportunities for cross-borough working with each other and relevant others
  • To provide networking opportunities for Social Care Workforce Development Managers
  • To gain strategic overview of developments in London
  • To explore funding opportunities for statutory social care training initiatives
  • To be the ‘Voice’ of learning & organisational development professionals in order to lobby national organisations with a view to influencing policy decisions
  • To explore shared development issues across social care and partner agencies
  • To focus on specialist issues affecting the Local Authority Partnership, working both regionally and sub-regionally
  • To identify common trends and issues, with a view to developing solutions and action plans
  • To provide continuing professional development to all participants by group coaching and mentoring
