Delayed Transfers of Care (DToC)

Background

The Monthly Situation Report (SITREP) collects data on the total number of delayed days throughout each month (B_SUM). Prior to April 2017, it also collected data on the number of patients delayed on the last Thursday of the month. Data for this national collection is available back to August 2010.

The data is broken down by:

Provider organisation including NHS Trusts, NHS Foundation Trusts and Primary Care Trusts;
The local authority responsible for each delay;
The agency responsible for each delay (NHS, Social Services or both);
The type of care received (acute or non-acute); and
The reason for delay.
