Teaching Care Homes Programme

Teaching Care Homes Programme

The Foundation of Nursing Studies in partnership with Care England and the Burdett Trust for Nursing, are looking to recruit participants for the Teaching Care Homes Programme. The programme includes six workshop days (held in London, April 2019 – March 2020) and one to one mentorship and on-site support from a FoNS Practice Development Facilitator. There is also a small bursary to support the programme.

There is a competitive application process and while there is no direct cost to organisations, teams will need organisational support.

The focus of this year’s programme: Leading and Facilitating Cross-sector Collaboration has been stimulated by the current teams’ interest in looking outwards and pushing boundaries. The Foundation of Nursing Studies is looking for care home teams (up to 3 people) and collaborators from another health or social care setting (e.g. care home/acute sector services; care home/university; care home/GP practice etc.). The partnerships should intend to develop and strengthen cross-system relationships by working together towards developing and achieving shared outcomes. Applications are welcome from homes providing care to persons of all ages including those caring for people with learning disabilities, neurological conditions etc.

The closing date for applications is 11th December 2018. A flyer is available with more information.

Programme leader Kate Sanders has written a blog this week which also tells you more about the programme.
