Key Aims for 2016/17
- To work with universities in order to provide training courses for BIAs in order to manage DoLS and legal timescales
- To ensure consistent Mental Capacity Assessments and Best Interest decision recording across London Council
- To work with the Department of Health on MCA and DoLS policy
- To ensure consistent MCA and DoLS policies across London
- To develop good practice across London with regards to legal, case law and safeguarding
- To report MCA/DoLS trends in a Safeguarding Adults Annual Report

- DoLS Funding Information Circulars and letters regarding previous funding allocation.
- CoP: draft Case Management Pilot Practice Direction. A pilot is due to commence in June that will test better case management in the CoP. This draft has been published and a lead-in period to allow applicants to prepare for the changes.
