ADULT SOCIAL CARE

Who we are looking for?

Are you interested in supporting people to do things for themselves? Adult social care providers are seeking to recruit staff who will help people to retain or regain their skills and confidence so they can learn to manage again after a period of illness.

  • Social care is about people – people in different places and people who want to live well.
  • Some people need help to live well – especially when life is tough, when they are not well, or when managing every day is difficult.
  • Social care makes the difference – the difference can be feeling comfortable and clean,  the difference can be feeling safe and secure, the difference can be feeling happier and that life has a meaning.
  • People working in social care say that they like working with people and that everyday is different. It can be hard work but also fun and rarely dull.
  • Some work in people’s own homes – some work in care homes or group settings.
  • Jobs can be full time or part time – leaving care workers with time to look after their own family or follow other interests outside work
  • And everyone needs to eat or be safe, so social care jobs include people who work as cooks, cleaners, doing laundry or maintenance jobs.
  • There are lots of different job roles in social care; it just depends what you’re interested in, who you want to work with and where you want to work. Click on the following link to find out more about each role and the skills, qualifications and experience you might need. Click Here.
